Times Square is covered by more cameras than almost any other intersection in the world. A portion of those are the NYCDOT traffic feeds that feed into the NYC Live Command Center. During daylight hours the feeds are crowded with people. Times Square sees about 300,000 pedestrians per day on average, and the camera doesn't edit them out. You see tour groups stopped in the middle of the plaza, yellow taxis queuing for fares, delivery trucks double-parked in the bus lanes, and the steady stream of people moving in every direction without any particular coordination.

Other dates that draw heavy live-camera attention include Thanksgiving (Macy's parade routes are covered by nearby feeds), major weather events, and the rare large-scale public events in Midtown that change traffic patterns across the whole area.
