The Staten Island Expressway and the Verrazzano
I-278 crosses the island from the Goethals Bridge to the Verrazzano-Narrows, and its cameras are the borough's essential feeds — when the SIE jams, there is no real alternate. The Verrazzano approach camera shows the toll-plaza backup toward Brooklyn before you commit.
Hylan Boulevard and the surface streets
The Hylan Boulevard camera at Arden Avenue watches the island's main commercial strip — among the longest streets in New York City, running from the Verrazzano nearly to the island's southern tip. Victory Boulevard and Richmond Avenue, the other two workhorses, have coverage at their busiest crossings.

On the New Jersey side, the Goethals Bridge, Outerbridge Crossing, and Bayonne Bridge are Port Authority spans, with DOT cameras on the connecting roads. At St. George, feeds near the ferry terminal show the streets around the borough's front door to Manhattan.
