The camera at Grand Army Plaza is positioned at the circle, looking at the convergence of Flatbush Avenue and the surrounding approach roads. The Memorial Arch is the dominant structure in the frame , it stands 80 feet tall in the center of the plaza, modeled on the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, and is visible from a significant distance along Flatbush Avenue.
The Bailey Fountain, in the plaza's central area, is also visible in the camera frame. The fountain was installed in 1932 and features bronze figures of Tritons and sea life in an art deco design.
