During peak outbound periods, vehicles waiting to enter the tunnel back up Canal Street significantly, and the camera captures where the queue currently ends. The camera view here looks different from a Times Square or Midtown camera , the sky is more visible, the buildings are shorter, and the street-level activity reflects a neighborhood rather than a commercial district.
